Ailsa Craig Painting W.I.P.2

Oil On Canvas Board 12in x 9in " Ailsa Craig "
A few days on after drying and the W.I.P. Ailsa Craig now has some colour on it...

I decided to paint with only one brush for a change and to leave marks compared to my usually smoothly blended seascapes...

I'm pleased with the outcome and enjoyed painting it...

Goatfell Painting...Hiking...Isle Of Arran...Scotland

Goatfell Isle Of Arran
Had a play in the studio today using oils on a 7in x 5in masonite board...

A few years ago I purchased a book by Colley Whisson about impressionistic painting...

Anyway I got a few paints out and a large brush and off I went...

Since moving up here to Scotland I'm lucky to have amazing scenery close by...

The painting is a rendition of a photo I took whilst hiking up Goatfell on the Isle Of Arran...
